A: There are thousands of colleges and universities in the United States. U.S. News & World Report in its rankings of the "Top Schools" in 2008 rated Rice University as No. 17 in the country. Rice was listed ahead of schools such as Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Berkeley, and NYU. Rice was also the highest ranked univeristy in the country with a Sport Management major.

A: Rice University is ranked No. 5 on Kiplinger's 2008 list of best values among private universities and colleges.
Q: What are some of the awards Sport Management majors are eligible to win?
A: Each year the Lindsay Roemmich Sport Management Achievement Award is given to the graduating senior who best exhibits (1) academic excellence, (2) external sport management experience, (3) positive attitude, and (4) dedication to improving the Rice Sport Management Program. Past winners include Ashley Anderson (2005), Adam Tabakin (2006), and Sparky Frost (2007). Sport Management majors are also eligible for the Gilbert L. Hermance Award which recognizes the top student in the entire Department of Kinesiology "who has exhibited exemplary qualities of scholarship, leadership, character and service during his or her undergraduate experience." Marcos Ramos (2005), Zach Thomas (2006), and Sparky Frost (2007) are Sport Management majors who have won the Hermance Award. The 2008 awards will be handed out on April 20, 2008.
